EDWIN - NIHON EIGA - NUBERU BAGU ヌーベルバーグ
SHORT SLEEVES T-SHIRT - SOCKS - TOTE BAG & BLANKET
This collaboration with Edwin takes inspiration from some of my favorite groundbreaking Japanese movies.
The series takes visual cues from :
Seijun Suzuki’s ‘60s pop crime film, ‘Tokyo Drifter’,
Shinji Somai’s 1985 indie drama, ‘Typhoon Club’
Takashi Kitano’s coming of age movie, ‘Kids Return’.

For this one I took inspiration on a obscure 80's movie 'TyphoonClub' directed by Shinji Somai.
The movie takes place in the five-day period before, during and after a ferocious, seemingly liberating typhoon, which five of the students endure while marooned in their school gymnasium.
It's a really atmospheric, ethereal movie, an anti coming of age movie.
I also took the name of the genre of the movie : Nuberu Bagu (New Wave) which goes well with the atmosphere of the film.
